31st Orthodox Youth Assembly – Welcome to Miholjska Prevlaka

The Thirty-First Orthodox Youth Assembly of Montenegro will be held again this year on July 25 and 26, 2025, at the Miholjska Prevlaka Monastery.

The central event of the Assembly will be the Holy Hierarchical Liturgy, which will be celebrated on Saturday, July 26, starting at 8:00 a.m., in the monastery church of St. Archangel Michael. The Holy Liturgy will be presided over by His Eminence Archbishop of Cetinje and Metropolitan of Montenegro and the Littoral, His Eminence Joanikije, with the concelebration of several hierarchs of the Serbian Orthodox Church. This Eucharistic gathering will represent the spiritual culmination of the entire event and an invitation to the unity of the youth and all those gathered in the Holy Mysteries.

After the liturgy, starting at 10:00 a.m., a youth spiritual and cultural program will follow, in the spirit of joy, service, and Orthodox unity. The congregation will be greeted by priest Vladimir Milunović, followed by performances by several youth choirs and groups. The choir “Holy Mother Angelina” from Nikšić and the choir “Saint Kuzma of Aetolia” from Podgorica will raise their voices to the glory of God, while the ethno group “Darovi Svetog Jovana Vladimira” from Bar will contribute to the folk and spiritual inspiration. The youth group of the “Saint Sava” gusala school from Podgorica will perform with a strong epic expression, and the congregation will also have the opportunity to hear the ethno singer Tijana Vučetić. Students of the “Saint Sava” high school will also present spiritual poetry and recitations.

The assembly will begin the day before, on Friday, July 25, at 8:00 PM, when a lecture by Protopresbyter Dr. Oliver Subotić, a famous priest and author of the book The Spiritual Figure of Nikola Tesla, will be held in the monastery grounds. The topic of the lecture will be: “Nikola Tesla as a Lover of the Gusal and Serbian Epic Poems”, in which Father Oliver will shed light on the spiritual and cultural layers of the personality of our great scientist, revealing his connection with Serbian tradition and poetry.

Miholjska Prevlaka, the place of suffering and resurrection, will remain a home for young people gathered around the Lord Christ, faith, hope and love this year as well. We invite all young people from Montenegro and beyond to take part in this holy assembly and to witness together in Christ the fullness of the Orthodox faith and folk tradition.
