Calendar for July 11 Transfer of the Relics of the Holy Moneyless Saints Cyrus and John
This day celebrates the transfer of their relics from Canopus to Manutin and the numerous miracles that occurred from them. The Patriarch of Alexandria, Saint Cyril, fervently prayed to God to destroy the idolatrous impurity in the place of Manutin, where there was an idol temple. The Angel of God told him that he should transfer the relics of Saints Cyrus and John to that place. The Patriarch did so immediately and built a church dedicated to the Holy Moneyless Saints in Manutin. The relics of these martyrs healed the son of the Alexandrian mayor Julian Ammonius, and a certain Theodore from blindness, his wife survived severe poisoning, Isidore of Mayum was cured of liver rot, Eugenius from dropsy, as well as many others. All this happened in the year 412.
