Saint Michael, Bishop of Synad. This holy and intelligent hierarch dedicated himself to the service of Christ from childhood. They practiced asceticism together with Saint Theophylact of Nicomedia. Once, during a dry season, these two saints brought down abundant rain to the earth with their prayers. Because of his ascetic and virginal life from his early youth, he was chosen and consecrated by Patriarch Tarasius as bishop of Synad. Participated in the VII Ecumenical Council. According to the emperor's wish, he went to Caliph Harun-al-Rashid to conduct peace negotiations. During the time of the evil Leo the Armenian, he was deposed from the bishop's throne for respecting icons and sent into exile, where he ended up in misery and poverty, remaining faithful to Orthodoxy until the end, and in 818 he moved to the kingdom of Christ the Emperor.
