Calendar for May 30 Saint Apostle Andronicus and Junia
Saint Andronicus was one of the Seventy, a relative of the Apostle Paul who writes: “Greet Andronicus and Junia, my kinsmen and fellow prisoners, who are of note among the apostles, who also believed in Christ before me” (Rom. 16:7). Junia was Andronicus’ assistant. When Saint Andronicus was appointed bishop of Pannonia, he did not reside in one place, but preached the Gospel throughout Pannonia. With Saint Junia, he managed to bring many to Christ God and destroy many idol temples. Both had the grace-filled power of miracles, they cast out demons and healed the sick. Both suffered for Christ. Their holy relics were found in the Eugenia region.
Holy Martyr Solokhon. Saint Stephen, Patriarch of Constantinople.
