A contemporary of St. John of Rila and St. Gabriel of Lesnovski. Childless old parents Jovan and Ana begged him from God. When he studied the books, he went to the desert. He lived in the Nagoričan and Kozjačka deserts. He was found by Diogenes, chasing a doe. Saint Prokhor then prophesied to him that he would become emperor, which came true. Later, Emperor Diogenes built a temple in Nagoričan, where St. Prokhor first practiced asceticism. Then, when he found his immortal relics, he prayed to the saint to reveal them to him, he also built a church on the river Pčinja, today's monastery of St. Prohor of Pčinja. There are also today the miraculous, peace-giving relics of this great pleaser of God. Saint Prokhor lived and died in the 11th century.
