Born in Corinth. His father Jovan was a priest, and the local bishop Petar was a relative. At the age of 18, he went to Jerusalem, where he became a monk. Then he went to Saint Euthymius, who saw in him a great spiritual man, clothed him in a shima and sent him to Saint Gerasimos on the Jordan. When St. Gerasim passed away, he returned to the monastery of St. Euthymius, where he stayed for 10 years. Then he changed place after place, fleeing from human glory. He also practiced asceticism in the monastery of St. Hariton, where he died when he was 109 years old. This celebrated ascetic and miracle worker was very big and strong in body, and for years he ate only raw vegetables and that once a day, after sunset. He rested in the Lord in 557.
