Cyprian was a sorcerer, he had connections with unclean spirits and did fortune-telling. A certain young man Aglaid wanted to seduce the virgin Justina and asked for help from Cyprian. Cyprian invoked evil spirits on Justina in order to inflame her passion for Aglaid, but the holy virgin drove the demons away with the sign of baptism and prayer to God. Thus, Cyprian realized the power of the cross, so he himself was baptized and eventually became a priest and a bishop. The Gentiles delivered both Cyprian and Justin to the court in Damascus. Then they were tortured and cut in Nicomedia, at the end of the 3rd century.
