Calendar for October 25 Holy Martyrs Tarach, Prov and Andronicus
Tarach was a native of Claudiopolis in Syria, Prov from Side of Pamphylia, and Andronicus was the son of a well-known citizen from Ephesus. All three, together, during the reign of Emperor Diocletian, were tortured by the antipath Numerius Maximus. First they beat them with sticks, then they threw them in front of the beasts in the theater. But around them the beasts caressed each other. Seeing this, many believed in Christ and stopped shouting at the antipath. This angry man, angrier than the beasts, ordered them to be cut down. They still cut them to pieces and mixed them with the bodies of the convicts that the beasts had torn to pieces earlier. The Christians Macarius, Felix and Verius came at night to bury the bodies of the martyrs, but they could not recognize which were theirs. They prayed to God, and three candles appeared over the bodies of the saints.
Saint Martin, Bishop of Turkey. Venerable Kozma Majumski.
