The Christmas concert of the children's choir of the Serbian Singing Society "Jedinstvo" - Kotor 1839, conducted by Ivana Krivokapić, was held tonight in the Church of the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul in Risno.
Despite the rainy and cold weather, the church was filled to capacity, and a large audience supported the youngest performers with applause, enjoying the festive atmosphere and the rich musical program.
The repertoire included songs: This church is our house, New Year's card, Christmas is coming, Christmas Bata is coming to town, The Lion Sleeps Tonight, Prayer, Let's spread love, Feliz Navidad, Happy Christmas to everyone and Christ is born.
The musical accompaniment was: Ana Mihajlović (piano), Petar Bukilica (guitar) and Ana Vulović (clarinet).
Before the start of the concert, the president of the non-governmental association "Zene Risna" Anka Perović greeted those present.
"I really have a special honor and great pleasure that tonight, for the first time, we managed to bring this wonderful children's choir together. The idea for the realization of the concert was given by Iva Malešević, and Ana Mihajlović provided great support. In this beautiful environment, where the bells of this church are among the most beautiful in Europe, we have the opportunity to hear these ringing children's voices. I wish everyone a Merry Christmas, lots of success, happiness and peace - Christ is born," said Perović.
Petar Bukilica addressed the audience on behalf of the Serbian Singing Society "Jedinstvo".
"Our company often performed in Risno, as evidenced by our chronicles, especially on the occasion of Saint Peter's Day. The ties between Unity and Risno are deep and unbreakable. Many of our members came from Risno and contributed significantly to the work of the Society - either as singers or through financial or other support. I would especially like to highlight our honorary member, great benefactor and endowment Vas Ćuković. He was, among other things, a link with the great scientist Mihajlo Pupin, who was also our We hope that we will meet again in Risan and that this will become a beautiful tradition, that we will return to Risan, at least a little of the old glory it once had Kotor", said Bukilica.
The concert was attended, among others, by the archpriest of Kotor-Tivat, the parish priest of Kotor, archpriest-stavrofor Nemanja Krivokapić, archpriest-stavrofor Momčilo Glogovac, as well as the parish priest of Risan, priest Stefan Đerković.
The organizers of the concert were the Non-Governmental Association "Zene Risna", the NGO Medaur "Malo Mjesto", the Tourist Organization of Kotor and the Serbian Orthodox Church Municipality of Risan.
