Archpriest Nenad Kalem, in his address to the faithful today at the Cvijeti liturgy in the Church of St. Nicholas in Kotor, said that it is up to us to recognize God's will, obey it and accept it with humility.

“We heard today’s Holy Gospel in which the event of today’s feast is described, the entry of our Lord Jesus Christ into the Holy City of Jerusalem, or as we also call this feast, Palm Sunday. Our Lord Jesus Christ visited the Holy City of Jerusalem many times before this event, but none of those visits remained in the memory of the Church like this one. The Church did not mark any of those visits with a celebration like this one. There are, of course, several reasons for this. Namely, before His arrival in Jerusalem, the Lord in Vitana, and Vitana is a part of Jerusalem, resurrected Lazarus, the brother of the Myrrhbearers Martha and Mary, who had been in the tomb for four days. His body, according to the testimony of the Holy Gospel, had already begun to decompose. With this resurrection of Lazarus, the Lord wants to show that He will grant us a general resurrection if we believe in Him. And faith in The Resurrection is also the basic dogma of our Holy Church because, if we believe that there was a Resurrection, there will be a Resurrection. Then we can say that we are Christ's. And that the resurrection of the dead is absolutely possible, the Lord Himself confirmed this to us in the Gospel and that the main goal of our life is union with God in His body and blood, and therefore resurrection, liberation from death. The second reason why this visit to Jerusalem is different from others is the way in which the Lord Christ entered this city, and also the mood of the people who welcomed Him with palm branches and flowers, saying to Him "Hosanna, blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord". This is how He was welcomed by a part of the Jewish people who believed in Him as the Messiah and King, having seen all His miracles", said Fr. Nenad.

He emphasized that the struggle for and against Christ constitutes the essence of the history of baptized peoples and runs like a single thread through all events throughout the centuries.

The personality of our Lord Jesus Christ. has become, from the very beginning of His public work, for some an object of adoration and an outpouring of the greatest joy, and for others a stumbling block and the object of the greatest hostility. However, with today's day, event and feast, the entry into Jerusalem, it has received its full expression. Therefore, we, dear brothers and sisters, should take care that we do not become enemies of Christ with our actions and with our whole life, because, as the Lord visited the holy city of Jerusalem, so He visits us in various ways, and it is ours to recognize the will of God, to obey it and to accept it with humility. May this holy feast of today be happy for everyone and may it be blessed for all. To our Lord be glory and praise forever and ever, amen."
