FATHERS' DAY LITURGICALLY CELEBRATED IN THE CHURCH OF ST. NICHOLAS
Today, on Fathers' Day, the last family holiday in the cycle preceding Christmas, the Holy Liturgy in the Church of St. Nicholas in the Old Town was served by the Archbishop's Vicar of Kotor-Tivat, the parish priest of Kotor, Archpriest-Staurophorus Nemanja Krivokapić.
Numerous believers received the Holy Sacrament of Communion.
On this day, the rite is the same as on Mother's Day, only with fathers in the main role.
It is believed that the three holidays preceding Christmas (Children's Day, Mother's Day and Fathers' Day) symbolize strong family ties, peace, harmony and mutual respect and help. In addition, they are very significant for the children themselves, who, as the main protagonists, participate in the ritual on an equal footing with adults, and at times even symbolically take control of the house, which is very useful for their development and self-confidence.
