INCANTO AND ORLIC PERFORMED AT THE CLOSING EVENING OF THE THIRD CHOIR FESTIVAL IN KOTOR
The third Choral Festival "Incanto" was closed last night at St. Luke's Square with a performance by the women's choir "Incanto" from Kotor and the Church Children's Choir and Orchestra "Orlic" from Batajnica.
The "Incanto" choir was founded in 2010. Since its founding, the members have performed at numerous klapa song festivals: FDK Omiš, Klapa Festival in Trebižat, as well as at the International Klapa Festival in Perast, where they won several awards, including the 1st jury and audience award in 2013 when they were declared the best klapa in Montenegro, and in 2016 they won the audience award in the category for best composition.
The repertoire of yesterday's performance included the songs: Dobro veče uzorita, Bonaca na moru, Zar je voljeti grijeh, Kroz planine brda i gora.
The audience applauded the performance of our fellow citizens, as always at a high artistic level when it comes to performing a demanding klapa song.
Then came the guests from Batajnica - the Church Children's Choir and Orchestra "Orlić".
The choir was founded in 2011 as a religious education section. The choir currently has 35 members. The conductor is Milica Ajković. Since its founding, they have participated in numerous events, concerts and festivals, and, among other things, in 2019 they won 1st place at the 17th International Choir Competition "Sounds of Moscow". The first prize also came in Macedonia at the Christmas Choir Festival. Interesting details from the biography include participation in the ceremony held on the occasion of signing the contract for the continuation of work on the Church of St. Sava in Belgrade, at the opening of the World Cup in football, in the Russian House, at the regional festival "FEDEHO", a concert in Gothenburg (Sweden)...
Conductor Milica Ajković, although she directed her professional path towards the study of languages and literature, has never neglected her love for music and musical education. Her great dedication, responsibility, work and love for choral singing and music have contributed to the choir continuing its successful work and development.
The impressive performance of "Orlić" last night, which the audience knew how to reward, recognizing above all the talent of the young choristers and their conductor, who are the sure future of choral music in the city they come from, speaks for itself. The winning compositions were applauded: From fiery tongues, All night long I was alive, Vragolan, Žubor voda, Tamo daleko, Zvezdo sjajna, Lazarica, Srpska kolevka, Slani grade, Hiljadu Vidovdana.
Conductor of SPD Jedinstvo, M.Sc. Mihajlo Lazarević, presented all participants of the Choir Festival "In unity with a singing heart" with appropriate gifts and thank-you notes.
We remind you that the Choir Festival "In unity with a singing heart" (June 27 - 29) opened in front of a large audience at St. Luke's Square with a performance by the hosts, the Serbian Singing Society (SPD) "Jedinstvo" (1839) from Kotor and the Novi Sad Chamber Choir.
On the second evening, the Choir of the Cathedral Church of St. George from Novi Sad performed in the Church of St. Nicholas (Saturday, June 28).
The program for all three evenings was hosted by Dušan Davidović.
