
Metropolitan Joanikije in Slovenia: We invoke peace for the souls of the murdered and forgiveness of sins for them and for those who murdered them
On All Saints' Sunday, the first after Pentecost, June 15, the eightieth anniversary of the suffering of the great national exodus on the road from Podgorica (Vezir Bridge) to the Walled Bridge in Slovenia was prayerfully commemorated.
The Holy Hierarchical Liturgy in the Church of Saints Cyril and Methodius in Ljubljana was presided over by His Eminence Archbishop of Cetinje, Metropolitan of Montenegro and the Littoral, Mr. Joanikije, with the concelebration of His Eminence Metropolitan of Budimlje and Nikšić, Mr. Methodius and His Eminence Bishop Jovan of Pakrac and Slavonia and Cyril of Buenos Aires and South-Central America, the administrator of the Metropolis of Zagreb and Ljubljana, the clergy and clergy from several dioceses of our Church, in the prayerful presence of the faithful.
After the Gospel reading, His Eminence Metropolitan of Montenegro and the Littoral delivered a sermon. Joanikije, saying that God's providence has arranged that on the feast of All Saints, we prayerfully commemorate the eightieth anniversary of the suffering of the remnants of the royal army in the homeland, priests and over 20,000 faithful people, who were killed by Tito's communists in Slovenia, after the end of World War II, during May and June 1945:
