MR MIHAJLO LAZAREVIC ON THE OCCASION OF THE CONCERT IN HONOR OF PROF. DR DANICA PETROVIC: THE WORK OF THE SPD JEDINSTVO KOTOR WAS WATCHFULLY FOLLOWED

A wonderful, inspired concert was held in the Atrium of the National Museum in Belgrade last night (11.05. 2025) by admirers and friends of the blessed memory of Prof. Dr. Danica Petrovic, and was organized by the Institute of Musicology of the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts and senior research associate Dr. Nataša Marjanović.
The conductor of the mixed choir of the Serbian Singing Society “Jedinstvo” (1839) Kotor, MA Mihajlo Lazarević, who was one of the conductors within the rich program, thanked the singers “for every carefully sung note, for the effort to make the concert in honor of Prof. Danica worthy of Her, for their efforts to give an artistic stamp to his, for us Serbs, most significant musical undertaking, in addition to the liturgical character of Korneli’s arrangements of church chant records, so that the church circle of worship could be presented to the world, so that other, especially Orthodox peoples, could enjoy the Karlovac chant both through concert and especially liturgical use.”
“Dr. Natasa Marjanović, I thank you for the opportunity to be part of such a project. Prof. Danica has been closely following the work of the SPD "Jedinstvo", and has rejoiced in our every success. We, her Kotor residents, are now delighted that her enormous work in the field of preserving tradition, and certainly with your immense contribution, has seen the light of day. I greet all the organizers, singers, conductors and the audience with our traditional greeting "song with the heart - the heart of the family"!
and the lyrics of our anthem "In Unity and with Unity we can meet everything!" have shown that wherever we come from, our hearts beat as one, that united we can respond to every task, that we live for God according to the example of Saint Sava. Long live!", said MA Lazarević.
