His Holiness the Serbian Patriarch Mr. Porphyrios spoke yesterday, March 30, 2026, at the Patriarchal Palace in Belgrade with the Deputy Minister of the Interior of the Republic of Greece Mr. Konstantin Yulekas, in charge of the region of Macedonia and Thrace.

In the cordial conversation, the deep spiritual and historical ties between the Serbian and Greek peoples, founded on the Orthodox faith and centuries-old brotherhood, were confirmed. Patriarch Porphyrios emphasized the special importance that Mount Athos has for the spiritual life of the Serbian people, recalling the mission of Saint Sava, who established the spiritual foundations of the Serbian Church on its soil.

Thanking for the cordial reception, Mr. Julekas expressed his joy at the meeting with the Serbian Patriarch, emphasizing that he felt like he was among true friends in Serbia.

At the end of the meeting, His Holiness emphasized that we must preserve unity and harmonious relations, because history has taught us that only in this way can we overcome all temptations. The reception was attended by: Ms. Maria Levanti, Ambassador of the Republic of Greece to the Republic of Serbia; Associates of the Deputy Ministers Mr. Moshos, Mr. Iakovidis and Mr. Tsamasilidis; Archpriest Đorđe Stojisavljević, Head of the Cabinet of the Serbian Patriarch; Archdeacon Dragan Radić; Mr. Boris Sekulić and Deacon Vladimir Jović, employees of the Cabinet of the Serbian Patriarch.
