Review of the 333rd issue of Holy Mountain: Christ is born, celebrate!
The introductory text of the 333rd issue of Holy Mountain, the model for faith, culture and education of the Metropolis of Montenegro and the Littoral, is the sermon of Saint John of Shanghai “Christ is born, celebrate!” The Christmas-themed text by Georgi Kapsanis “The Incarnation of God – a pledge of the deification of man”, as well as Archbishop Georgi Wagner’s “Circumcision of the Lord”. Shio Otarashvili reveals how Christmas is celebrated in Georgia.
The Christmas issue abounds in a variety of topics. Archpriest Aleksandar Lekić writes about the great December holiday of the Presentation.
The lecture of Metropolitan of Montenegro and the Littoral Joanikije “The Secret of the Lovcen Chapel”, held in Pljevlja at the end of 2025, was published. About the significant event that took place in Kolašin at the end of October - the unveiling of the monument to Metropolitan Amfilohije, Svetigora reports the speeches of Mayor Petko Bakić "Today we remove the veil from our own hearts", as well as Matija Bećković "Rejoice, Kolašin!"
Archpriest-stavrophor Milorad Golijan gave Svetigora an interesting interview "With the world of Christ, we save this world too". A piece of Russian heaven was brought by Hristina Plamenac with her travelogue "The world is small, but Russia is great".
This year marks the 110th anniversary of the Battle of Mojkovac, and on this occasion in the new Svetigora you can read the work of Dr. Vasilj Jovović "The Battle of Mojkovac in Yugoslav periodicals between the two world wars (1918–1941)". Mr. Rade S. Bulajić writes about Archimandrite Seraphim Kasić, MA Aleksandar Vujović about Hieromonk Simeon – Božo Đ. Mihailović, and MA Smilja Vlaović about the Church of St. Great Martyr George in Donja Gorica.
Dr Jelena Gazdić recalls the importance of Miroslav’s Gospel, the guardian of Serbian literacy. Dr Budimir Aleksić deals with the work of Milun Đačić, and MA Milorad Durutović with the poetry of Katarina Kapičić, whose poem about Metropolitan Amfilohije was among the covers of the new Sveti Gora.
The content of Sveti Gora was complemented by the permanent columns Archive and Chronicle of the Metropolis. Sveti Gora’s “Christmas Commemoration” also included the names of those who recently left us − Nikica Kovačević, the bishop Dobrija Radović, and Ranko Damjanović.
