SAINT NICHOLAS, THE PROTECTOR OF SEAMEN AND TRAVELERS, CELEBRATED LITURGICALLY IN THE CHURCH OF THE SAME NAME IN KOTOR

Saint Nicholas was liturgically celebrated today in the church of the same name in the Old Town of Kotor, with the communion of many believers.

The protector of sailors and travelers, St. Nicholas the Miracle Worker, Archbishop of Mirlikia, is the glory of the Kotor Cathedral Church, as well as of numerous local families.

A fragment of the Saint's relics is kept in the church.

The liturgy was served by the archpriest of Kotor-Tivat, the parish priest of Kotor, archpriest-stavrofor Nemanja Krivokapić, with the help of the clergy.

"May St. Nicholas protect you all and let us emulate his works, his God-pleasing life, his life. The saints earned sanctity with their pious lives, which is why God glorifies them. May we follow the path of the saints and may we, through their prayers and the prayers of our Holy Father Nicholas, obtain eternal salvation, amen," said Fr. Nemanja, congratulating believers on the holiday and glory.

According to the old custom, on the first Sunday after Nicholas Day, after the liturgy, a commemoration will be held for the founders, contributors and benefactors of the Church of St. Nicholas and all other churches in Kotor.
