In the Treasury of the Serbian Orthodox Church Kotor, SPD Jedinstvo (1839) Kotor tonight, with numerous guests, celebrated its baptismal feast of Saint Sava.

The members of Jedinstvo were congratulated on the feast by the hierarchal vicar of Kotor-Tivat, the parish priest of Kotor, and the archpriest Stavrophor Nemanja Krivokapić.
“You have a wonderful protector and intercessor before God, a saint who dedicated his entire life to his people, teaching them to walk the right path, as it is said in the troparion that we have just sung: “on the path that leads to life you were a teacher and instructor”. We and the members of SPD Jedinstvo, by celebrating Saint Sava, continue his work and walk the path he walked. We celebrated Saint Sava through worship services, academies and in this way, solemnly as we could. May you have a happy slava, may we all live in harmony, may Saint Sava help you”, said Father Nemanja.

Vice President of SPD Jedinstvo Petar Bukilica thanked the numerous guests who came to the Treasury for the choir’s baptismal slava. “Let us all commend ourselves together to his prayers before the Lord, to give us strength and health to continue on the path that our founders embarked on and that our ancestors walked, and to ask that he pray to the Lord to rest the souls of all our deceased members who have incorporated a part of themselves into our Society. With their efforts, sacrifices and dedication, they have contributed to the Unity lasting for so many years, from 1839 to the present day. Thank you to everyone who helps our work, to the members of the Circle of Serbian Sisters who have been helping to prepare this celebration of ours beautifully for years, to the Brotherhood of Orthodox Youth of St. Luke, as well as to the Kuznetsov and Kesler families who came to our aid in difficult times when we did not have the support of public institutions. Today, we most sincerely thank the Municipality of Kotor and the Secretariat for Culture, Sports and Social Activities, from whom we have had great support recently.” said Bukilica.

The hosts and guests were also addressed this evening by the president of the Grbaljska Lista Board of Directors, Stevo Latković, who toasted the SPD Jedinstvo on the feast of Saint Sava.
“I would like to thank you for your many years of work, which has significantly contributed to the cultural life of our community. I would also like to say that the Grbaljska Lista, as part of the local government, will carefully nurture and support the work of the SPD Jedinstvo, especially because one of the fundamental ideas behind the founding of the Grbaljska Lista is the preservation of cultural heritage and tradition” said Latković.
