“The Gospel is the Measure of History”
Two histories are written in parallel, one with ink on paper and the other in human hearts. The first is very often falsified, while the second, which the people hold in their hearts and pass on from generation to generation, remains the voice of conscience and truth.
The truth cannot be hidden, no matter how much it is hidden, history records it while Heaven reveals it at the time that God designates. And God, through the history of the human race, sends his historians to write down the truth that we will all encounter at the Last Judgment.
The history of every event that takes place on the stage of human civilization is recorded not only in the earthly volumes of history, but also in the Heavenly Volume of human history, which is supervised by the Creator of man and history itself.
Hiding the true history is a futile mission that usually lasts until one government leaves, and then secret files are opened, illuminating historical events hidden for several decades or centuries. And when a person can reveal the secrets of history, imagine how much history has just been revealed before the face of the Lord.
History was and remains the teacher of life, and if people had the opportunity to look at it from the future, they might be ashamed of their deeds and repent. However, our Lord Jesus Christ left his Gospel to be the measure of history by which history itself is transformed and sanctified. Thus, those who keep the commandments of God in their minds and hearts, their history is written in golden letters, as was the history of the Holy Nemanjićs in the Serbian family.
Dear brothers and sisters, two histories are written, one on earth and the other in Heaven. Let us strive to ensure that the history of our generation is written in golden letters and not in dark ink, which future generations will be ashamed of, and Heavenly Serbia will weep over our generation. And the history of the Serbian race was written by glorious rulers-founders, holy hierarchs and monks, great heroes and martyrs for the honorable cross and golden freedom. Therefore, let us strive, brothers and sisters, not to betray our Holy Ancestors with Saint Sava at their head and to be the light of Christ in this generation of ours as well!
