The Feast of Saint Amphilochius of Iconium was celebrated with a Eucharistic assembly in the Cathedral of the Resurrection of Christ in Podgorica. The Holy Hierarchical Liturgy was celebrated by His Eminence Archbishop of Cetinje, Metropolitan of Montenegro and the Littoral, Joanikije, with the concelebration of a large number of clergy and monastics.

During the Liturgy, His Eminence Metropolitan Joanikije ordained reader Cvjetko Perić to the rank of deacon.

After the Gospel reading, Archpriest Igor Balaban addressed the congregation, emphasizing that saints are not remembered for their glory, nor so that we can be proud of their deeds, but rather so that we can learn from them, set them as role models to follow, and ultimately give glory to God who blessed them with grace and the word they preached. Although not everyone can be a great preacher or elder in the Church, Archpriest Igor reminds us that everyone can bear witness to the Christian faith in their own way in their environment – ​​by helping loved ones, parents, neighbors, or colleagues.

"Everyone can bear witness to the Christian faith, everyone can receive Christ into their heart, receive His blessing, His grace and live by it. They can help their helpless parents, they can help their neighbor, they can help their colleague at work. They can preach the Christian faith to all of them with their lives. Each of us can do that. And we must not shy away from that cup and run away from it. We must not try to let it pass us by and be uninterested in our Christian identity and life, because the faith of Christ is not an ideology. The faith of Christ should not be some kind of psychological comfort for us, intellectual or otherwise. We should understand it as true life," said Archpriest Igor Balaban.
