Theological Seminary of St. Peter of Cetinje: Competition for admission to the 1st grade of the 2025/26 school year

Based on the Regulation on Theological Schools and Conditions of Admission to Theological Seminaries of the Serbian Orthodox Church and the Decision of the Holy Synod of Bishops of the Serbian Orthodox Church No. 483/Zap. 390 of May 9, 2025,

The Metropolis of Montenegro and the Littoral announces
C O N C U R T
For admission to the 1st grade of the Theological Seminary of the 2025/26 school year. year, which contains the following conditions:
– that the candidate is not older than 18 years
– that he/she is not married
– that he/she has completed primary school, at least with very good results and exemplary behavior
– that he/she is mentally and physically healthy
– that the candidate has a developed ear and voice for singing
– that the candidate has basic knowledge of catechism and knowledge of the Lord's and Mother's feasts, the Serbian language and literature, and general and folk history.
Schooling in the seminary lasts four years, with the obligatory passing of a final theological exam.
All admitted students will be accommodated in the school boarding house and will enjoy the same: food, fuel, lighting and treatment in case of illness.
Applications for admission are submitted immediately to the competent bishop, through the competent parish priest.
The following documents shall be attached to the application:
a) an original extract from the baptismal registry, issued by the competent parish priest;
b) a certificate of completion of school, together with the student's record book and grades;
c) a medical certificate that the candidate is mentally and physically healthy;
d) a certificate from the competent parish priest about his conduct and suitability for the priesthood and that he is not married;
e) a written consent from the parents/guardians that the candidate can study theology;
d) a written undertaking by himself and his parents/guardians, confirmed by the competent parish priest, that he will regularly pay the administration of the Seminary a certain contribution for his maintenance in the boarding school (in addition to parents and guardians, these obligations may also be given by dioceses, church municipalities and monastery administrations, in which case the student in question is their pupil).
The entrance exam for candidates of the Metropolis of Montenegro and the Littoral will be held on Saturday, June 21, 2025, in the premises of the Metropolis in Cetinje, starting at 11 a.m.
