"Youth for Kosmet": Let's help families affected by fires in Kosovo and Metohija
The humanitarian youth club "Youth for Kosmet" from Podgorica has launched a new fundraising campaign aimed at families left without a roof over their heads, property and basic living conditions in the recent fires that have affected several Serbian villages in Kosovo and Metohija. The campaign will last until September 1, 2025.
“We hereby call on all people of good will to participate in this action, according to their capabilities, and show evangelical care for their neighbors. Let us stand with our people, show solidarity and humanity when it is most needed,” they emphasize in their appeal “Youth for Kosmet” with the traditional message: “No surrender!”
Earlier, the Diocese of Raška-Prizren sent an invitation to humanitarian organizations, charitable funds, church communities and people of good will to organize, according to their capabilities, fundraising and other necessary assistance for families who lost everything in the recent fires.
"Youth for Kosmet" in the recently completed Vidovdan campaign, collected 9,000 euros, which, as they said, will be used to purchase new Gjilan costumes for members of the Cultural and Artistic Society "Manasije Conić" from Gornji Kusac, which tirelessly preserves Serbian tradition, culture and identity in the heart of Kosmet.
"Thank you to everyone who contributed to the success of this campaign with their participation, donations and support. Your love, sacrifice and solidarity give hope and strength to those who live, create and survive in Kosovo and Metohija," reads the announcement of the HOK "Youth for Kosovo".
For their active Christian love and assistance to those in need in Kosovo and Metohija, on Vidovdan, June 28, 2025, in Gračanica, "Youth for Kosovo" from Podgorica was awarded the episcopal certificate of the Diocese of Raška-Prizren.
