Bishop Paisje celebrates the Assumption of the Virgin Mary in the Church of St. George in Orahovac on the occasion of the votive feast and leads the Great Assumption procession
His Eminence Bishop of Diocletia, G. Paisje, will celebrate the Holy Hierarchical Liturgy on Friday, August 28, at 9 a.m. on the feast of the Assumption of the Most Holy Theotokos, in the Church of St. George in Orahovac on the occasion of the votive feast of this Perast town, and will then lead the traditional Great Assumption procession, which was renewed in 2019, said in an announcement for our Radio priest Jovan Vasić, parish priest of Orahovac-Perast, which is the first time that a bishop has led the service and procession on the votive feast day of Orahovac.
Father Jovan also spoke about the significance of the vow of the feast of the Assumption of the Most Holy Mother of God, which is a feast of joyful sorrow and a testimony of the Resurrection and victory over death, which is the cure for suffering in this world.
