Calendar for July 11 Transfer of the Relics of the Holy Money Changers Cyrus and John
This day celebrates the transfer of their relics from Canopus to Manutinum and the numerous miracles that occurred from them. The Patriarch of Alexandria, Saint Cyril, fervently prayed to God to destroy the idolatrous impurity in the place of Manutinum, where there was an idol temple. An angel of God told him that he should transfer the relics of Saints Cyrus and John to that place. The Patriarch did so immediately and built a church dedicated to the Holy Money Changers in Manutinum. The relics of these martyrs healed the son of the mayor of Alexandria, Julian Ammonius, and a certain Theodore of blindness, his wife survived severe poisoning, Isidore of Mayum was cured of liver rot, Eugenius of dropsy, and many others. All this happened in the year 412.
Venerable Senufius the Standard-Bearer. Venerable Paul the Physician. Holy Martyrs of Dabro-Bosnia and Milesevo. St. Peter's Day Fast.
