Calendar for July 13 - Council of the Holy Twelve Apostles - Pavlovdan
The Church designated this day as the feast of all 12 apostles, although each of them has its own special day of celebration. This is how they ended their earthly life: Peter was crucified upside down, Andrew was crucified, Jacob Zebedee was cut, John the Theologian rested miraculously, his body was not found in the grave, Philip was crucified, Bartholomew was crucified, then skinned and cut, Thomas was pierced with five spears, Matthew the evangelist was burned in the fire, James of Alphaeus was crucified, Thaddeus (or Judas of James) was crucified, Simon the Zealot was crucified, Matthias was crucified, then he was cut dead with an axe, Paul was cut down. In the Synaksar of the Church of Constantinople, on this day, not only the council of the Holy Twelve, but also the Holy Seventy Apostles is celebrated.
