There Saint Pancratius performed great miracles, destroyed idols, baptized the unbaptized and strengthened the baptized in the faith. Tavromen became a Christian city and Duke Aquilinus went with an army to destroy it. St. Pancratius, with the clergy, went out with the cross in his hand outside the city and the soldiers rioted and killed each other. The Gentiles stoned him to death. His relics are in Rome.
