Calendar for July 25 The Icon of the Holy Mother of God of Three Hands

It was a local icon of Saint John of Damascus, in the 8th century. When it healed his right hand, which had been cut off because he wrote against iconoclasm, he had a third hand added to it, made of silver. Then he went to the monastery of Saint Sava the Sanctified and took it with him. In the 13th century, together with the icon of the Mother of God the Milk-Giver and the crucible of Saint Sava the Sanctified, according to the prophecy of this saint, it was given to Saint Sava of Serbia, who took it to Serbia. At the beginning of the 15th century, on a donkey, it arrived alone at the Hilandar monastery, where, at the end of the century, having resolved the dispute of the Hilandar brethren over the election of the abbot, it became the abbess, which it was until the end of the 20th century. The most revered Serbian icon. Countless miracles have occurred over it.
