Calendar for July 6 - Holy Martyr Agrippina
She was born and raised in Rome. From childhood, she lived an evangelical life, banishing the stench of passion from her heart and infusing it with the fragrance of virginal purity. As the bride of Christ, she suffered during the time of Emperor Valerian. They beat her with sticks until her bones were broken. Then they took off her clothes and chained her. But an angel of God appeared to her and strengthened her. When they continued to torture her, she surrendered her soul to the Lord. Her friends Vasa, Pauna and Agathonica took her relics to Sicily and buried them there. A church dedicated to her was later built there. Countless miracles happened over the relics of Saint Agrippina. Even the Agarians were driven back from the city. Saint Agrippina suffered for Christ God in 275.
