Persians, born brothers, from a heathen father and a Christian mother. They were high officials under the emperor Alamundar, who sent them to Julian the Apostate to establish peace between the Persian and Greco-Roman empires. Emperor Apostate arranged a festival for the idols in Chalcedon, to which the holy brothers did not want to come. Then the emperor called them to offer sacrifices to the idols. They told him that they were foreign subjects, that they were Christians and that they would not worship dead idols. Then the naked men tied them to trees, beat and scraped them with iron brushes. But the angel of God took away their pain. Then they were cut. The Persian emperor raised a large army, and Julian, confident of victory, went against the Persians. However, he was beaten to the feet and lost his head there.
