Calendar for June 9 - Priest-martyr Terapont, bishop of Sardinia
He converted many Jelinens to the faith of Christ, which is why he was angrily tortured by the heathens with hunger, prison and beatings. Naked, they laid him on the ground and tied him to 4 dry stakes, beating him mercilessly until the flesh fell off his bones. But the martyr remained alive, and those four dry logs turned green and grew into tall trees, from which many sick people received healing. Finally, Saint Terapont was slaughtered like a lamb, in the time of Valerian, and his soul moved to the Empire, to see the glory of God in eternity. He died honorably in 259.
Holy Martyrs Theodora and Didymus. Saint David Garedžijski.
