He ventured in t. the so-called Old Pescheri or Lavra of Chariton the Great in Palestine. Having loved Christ the Lord with all his heart, all his soul and all his mind, from his youth he began to travel to holy places and listen to the teachings and advice of holy people. At last he settled in Chariton's cave, where he gave himself up to a hard feat, spending days and years in fasting, prayer and vigil, constantly thinking about death and learning humility. Like a well-ripened fruit, it would be picked at death and transferred to Paradise. He lived and died in the 8th century.
