Calendar for September 23 Holy Martyrs Minodorus, Mitrodorus and Nymphodorus
Born sisters from Bithynia of Asia. Raised in the Christian spirit, they retreated to the desert to spend their lives in asceticism, purity and virginity. And they surrendered to great effort, fasting and prayer, so that God granted them miracle-working. They soon got the word out, and many people rushed to them to ask for help. But Prince Fronton took them to court. And he was surprised by the beauty of their faces. Although hermits and dry bodies, their faces were bright, radiant with God's grace. The prince promises them that he will send them to the emperor, who will marry them to his nobles. But when they see that his story is in vain, he tortures Minodora first, and when she dies, he tortures the other two sisters as well. They died between 305 and 311.
