Cornelius left everything and followed the Apostle Peter, who later appointed him bishop in the pagan city of Scipseosis, where he suffered many sufferings for the sake of Christ. But, by the power of God, he managed to destroy the temple of Apollo and baptize the prince of that city, Demetrius, with 277 Gentiles. He peacefully gave up his soul to God in old age. Over time, his grave was forgotten, but he appeared to Bishop Silouan of Troas, who, with the help of the wealthy man Eugenius, built a church on it. His relics are miraculous.
