Calendar for September 7 Saint Apostle Titus
One of the Seventy. Born in Crete. In his youth, he studied Greek philosophy and poetry. After a dream, he began to read the prophet Isaiah, which made him doubt Greek wisdom. When he heard about Christ, he went to Jerusalem with some other Cretans. Hearing the words of the Lord and seeing His works, his heart was drawn to Christ. He was baptized by the Apostle Paul, who calls him his son (Titus 1:4) and brother (Cor. 12:18). He traveled a lot with the Apostle Paul, who appointed him Bishop of Crete. He witnessed the suffering of his spiritual father and teacher in Rome, and buried his body. Then he returned to Crete, where he baptized the Gentiles with great success and governed the Church of God. He died at the age of 94.
