The Committee for the Renovation of the Church of the Beheading of St. John the Baptist – Velinići (Gornji Orahovac) invites “Oravci residents, residents of the surrounding villages, as well as all people who love and respect the tradition of the Kotor hinterland” to join the action.
On the occasion of the renovation of the church in Velinići, a holy liturgy will be celebrated on Sunday, June 7, starting at 9:00 a.m. on the feast of the Third Finding of the Head of St. John the Baptist (Petrovske poklada). After the service, the official plan and intention for the renovation will be presented.

With joint efforts and concerted action, an official action has been launched to completely reconstruct and restore this ancient shrine - the Church of the Beheading of St. John the Baptist, which represents a pillar of the architectural and spiritual heritage of the Orahovac hinterland. The Committee was constituted with the blessing of the Metropolitan of Montenegro and the Littoral Joanikije, and headed by the parish priest of Orahovac - Perast, priest Jovan, the locals and the faithful people of this region.
