FEAST LITURGY ON THE TRANSFIGURATION IN THE CHURCH OF ST. NICHOLAS IN KOTOR
On the Transfiguration, a festive liturgy was celebrated in the Church of St. Nicholas and grapes and other offered fruits were blessed, with a large number of believers present.
In the festive sermon, Father Nemanja Krivokapić explained the significance of this great feast of the Lord, when the Lord was transfigured before his disciples and showed his divine glory, proving to the Apostles, and through them to all of us, that Christ is truly the true God who came into the world to save us and grant us eternal life.
He reminded us that this feast, by its very name, also encourages us to our personal transformation, to lead a life worthy of a Christian who strives for the Kingdom of God.
"That is why we fast, so that through our efforts we may transform ourselves and be more worthy of meeting the Lord through Holy Communion. For just as the Lord appeared to His disciples in Divine glory and gave Himself to them as such, so He gives Himself to us at every liturgy through Holy Communion, in all His Divine glory."
