Literary Contest Announced: "The Spirit Breathes Where He Wills" – Part of the "Days of Metropolitan Amfilohije"
The Catechetical Board of the Metropolitanate of Montenegro and the Littoral, as part of the "Days of Metropolitan Amfilohije" event, is announcing a literary contest themed "The Spirit Breathes Where He Wills."
"The Spirit breathes where He wills" (John 3:8) – these words from the Holy Gospel remind us of the mystery and freedom with which the Holy Spirit acts within the world and within humanity. Inspired by the life, work, and spiritual legacy of the late Metropolitan Amfilohije, we invite children and young people to express—through the written word—their reflections on faith, love, freedom, spiritual rebirth, and the presence of God in our lives.
Both prose and poetic works are welcome; entries will be evaluated in three categories:
• Ages up to 11
• Ages 12 to 14
• Ages 15 to 18
Submissions must be typed in the Cyrillic script, formatted as a Word document using the "Times New Roman" font (size 12), and should not exceed 3,600 characters (up to two typed pages).
Please include the following information with your submission: full name, city, name of the religious education school (catechetical class), age, and a contact phone number for the author or the religious education teacher. Submissions should be sent to the email address: kancelarija.katihetski@gmail.com, no later than October 31, 2026, by 12:00 PM.
We invite all young creators to bear witness—through their literary works—to a living faith, the power of love, and the grace of the Holy Spirit, while preserving the memory of the spiritual persona and legacy of Metropolitan Amfilohije.
