LITERATURE OF THE LITTLE LADY OF THE MOTHER OF GOD LITURGICALLY CELEBRATED IN THE CHURCHES OF KOTOR
LITERATURE OF THE LITERATURE OF THE MOTHER OF GOD - THE BIRTH OF THE MOTHER OF GOD is liturgically celebrated today in the churches of St. Basil of Ostrog in Dobrota, St. Peter of Cetinje in Prčanj and St. Nicholas in the Old Town.
During the liturgical year, there are four feasts of the Most Holy Theotokos, of which the first feast is certainly the Nativity of the Most Holy Theotokos. According to the words of St. Andrew of Crete, the feast of the Nativity of the Most Holy Theotokos can be called the beginning of feasts. With this great feast of the Most Holy Mother of God, the annual cycle of great feasts begins, while the cycle of great feasts ends with another feast of the Mother of God - the Assumption.
In the Church of St. Nicholas The Holy Liturgy was served by Archpriest-Staurophor Milenko Jekić, and numerous believers received the Holy Sacrament of Communion.
The Most Holy Mother of God gave birth to us God – the Conqueror of death, the Conqueror of hell, the tormentor of the human race, the terrible and horrible devil. And by giving birth to Him for us, She truly gave birth to God, who is above death, who won victory over all deaths, victory over devils. Thus, She truly became, together with Her Divine Son, the Conqueror of death and the Giver of Eternal Life.
Your birth, O Virgin Theotokos, announced joy to all the world, for from You shone the Sun of Righteousness (Truth), Christ our God, Who, destroying the curse, gave us blessing and, destroying death, granted us eternal life. (troparion of the feast)
