Yesterday, on Materice, Priest Vojislav Mijatović celebrated the Holy Liturgy in the Prčanj Church of St. Peter of Cetinje.
The holiday, which was accompanied by beautiful weather, also brought together numerous children from this parish, and Fr. Vojislav addressed them at the liturgy, reminding them that “on the second Sunday before Christmas, which is called Mother’s Day, fathers and children “bind” their mothers (mothers), and they “untie” them.
“This “untie” is a gift of love, which creates a festive, festive atmosphere in Christian family circles.
Such a festive atmosphere was created by the wise men of the East to the Holy Family of the Christ Child by bowing to Him in the Bethlehem Cave, with gifts: myrrh, frankincense and gold. The symbolism of this mutual “binding” and “untying” of children and parents is clear - we are preparing for the celebration of the most joyful Christian holiday – Christmas, which reconciled man with God, freeing him from the bonds of sin, and binding him with a new bond of love for God.
