His Eminence the Metropolitan of Montenegro and the Littoral, Mr. Joanikije received today in the Metropolis of Cetinje the Vice President of Bulgaria Mrs. Iliana Jotova. During this visit, Mrs. Jotova toured the Cetinje Monastery, paid homage to the shrines, learned about its history and visited the rich monastery treasury. The meeting was also attended by Mr. E. Ambassador of Bulgaria in Montenegro, Mr. Stefan Dimitrov.
The Metropolitan introduced the distinguished guest to the history of the Metropolitanate of Montenegro and the Littoral, as well as to the current spiritual life and activities in the field of church life, culture and education. In a cordial conversation, the interlocutors emphasized the importance of common spiritual and cultural ties, as well as the need for cooperation in strengthening those ties and inheriting the Cyril and Methodius heritage.
At the end of the meeting, special gifts were exchanged.
