
Patriarch Porfirije hosted members of the Serbian Association "Karađorđe" from Herceg Novi
His Holiness the Serbian Patriarch Mr. Porfirije hosted members of the Serbian Association "Karađorđe" from Herceg Novi on February 10, 2025 at the Patriarchal Palace in Belgrade.
In a cordial and open conversation, the guests introduced the Patriarch to their work and commitment to preserving Serbian cultural heritage, traditions and history in the area of Herceg Novi, Boka Kotorska, as well as the entire Montenegro. They particularly emphasized their contribution to nurturing the memory of significant historical events and personalities, as well as the preservation of Serbian folklore and traditional music. During the meeting, members of the association sang two traditional Serbian melodies from the coastal region for His Holiness accompanied by the gusle. The Patriarch expressed his satisfaction with the visit and praised the efforts and commitment to preserving Serbian identity and cultural heritage. He emphasized the importance of similar initiatives for preserving the spiritual and cultural ties between Serbia and Montenegro.
The reception was attended by: Messrs. Predrag Vujnović, Predrag Vujsić, Milivoje Brčić, Savo Niković and Milivoje Kosović, members of the Serbian Association "Karađorđe"; Archpriest Đorđe Stojisavljević, Head of the Cabinet of the Serbian Patriarch.
The Serbian Association "Karađorđe" from Herceg Novi is a non-governmental organization that deals with the preservation and nurturing of Serbian cultural heritage, tradition and history in the area of Herceg Novi and Montenegro. The association organizes numerous cultural events, concerts, exhibitions and lectures, with the aim of promoting Serbian culture and strengthening ties with mother Serbia.
