Patriarch Porfirije Visits Savina Monastery
His Holiness Serbian Patriarch Porfirije today, on the feast of the Beheading of St. John the Baptist, visited the Savina Monastery in Herceg Novi, where he was welcomed by His Eminence Archbishop of Cetinje and Metropolitan of Montenegro and the Littoral, Mr. Joanikije, and the abbot of the monastery, Hieromonk Makarije.
The ceremonial welcome of His Holiness at the Savina Monastery was also attended by Archbishop of Zadar-Šibenik and Metropolitan of Dalmatia, Mr. Nikodim, and Archbishop and Metropolitan of Budva-Nikšić, Mr. Methodius.
On the occasion of His Holiness' visit, the President of the Municipality of Herceg Novi, Mr. Stevan Katić and the Director of the Secretariat for Religions in the Government of the Republic of Serbia, Mr. Vladimir Roganović.
His Holiness the Serbian Patriarch, Mr. Porfirije, expressed great joy on the occasion of the successful renovation of the large church of the Savina Monastery and the significant spiritual and cultural celebrations that are regularly held in the area of the Herceg Novi municipality.
