His Holiness Serbian Patriarch Porphyry celebrated today, together with His Beatitude Patriarch Theophilus of Jerusalem and All Palestine, the Holy Liturgy of the Presanctified Gifts on Golgotha ​​in the Church of the Resurrection of the Lord (Church of the Holy Sepulchre) in Jerusalem.

In the annals of the greatest Christian shrine, it will be noted that His Holiness Serbian Patriarch Porphyry is the first in history, besides the Patriarch of Jerusalem, to celebrate the Holy Liturgy on Golgotha, the place of the Crucifixion of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Also, today another golden page in the history of the Serbian Church and the Serbian people was written. Namely, after the Holy Liturgy, His Holiness Patriarchs Teofilo and Porphyrios venerated the Holy Sepulcher and on that occasion, in that holy place, His Beatitude Patriarch of Jerusalem Mr. Teofilo awarded His Holiness Patriarch of Serbia Mr. Porphyrios with the highest decoration of the Patriarchate of Jerusalem – the Order of the Grand Cross. Presenting the decoration that adorns the chests of rare individuals, Patriarch Teofilo emphasized the great importance of the archpastoral and theological activity of Patriarch Porphyrios not only for the Serbian Orthodox Church but also for the entire Orthodoxy.
