St. Sava Academy in Tivat: Savindan – a day when we remember who we are and where we belong
Organized by the Metropolitanate of Montenegro and the Littoral, the Serbian Orthodox Church Municipality of Tivat and the Temple of Saint Sava, the St. Sava Academy was held last night in the Great Hall of the Cultural Center in Tivat.
Professor Miloš Ković spoke extensively about the importance of Saint Sava in front of numerous visitors.
“Saint Sava gave his fatherland a solid foundation and a clear direction that Serbs have been striving to follow for more than 850 years. By establishing the autocephalous Serbian Orthodox Church and establishing the true faith, he made the people a moral and historical community, bound by vow, memory and responsibility. Therefore, Savindan is not only a church holiday, but a day when we remember who we are, to whom we belong and what obligation we have towards faith, church and community.”
The rich cultural and artistic program was attended by the mixed and children’s choir “Holy Martyrs of Prevlaka”, the Grbalj Singing Society, Boško and Kristina Tujković who performed on the accordion and guitar, the guslar Stevan Miljanić, as well as religious education students at the Temple of Saint Sava.
The Academy, attended by the Mayor of Tivat, Željko Komnenović, and the President of the Tivat Municipal Assembly, Miljan Marković, took place in a solemn and inspiring atmosphere.
