Statement by His Holiness the Patriarch of Serbia, Mr. Porfirije
His Holiness the Patriarch of Serbia, Mr. Porfirije, today, August 14, 2026, in a statement to the Information Service of the Serbian Orthodox Church, denied the allegations of certain media outlets about the establishment of the Diocese of Boka Kotorska:
"The story about the establishment of the Diocese of Boka Kotorska in Montenegro would be ridiculous if it were not for evil intent, a well-conceived malicious campaign that, by emphasizing this topic, aims to create confusion, to create confusion and to create distrust among Orthodox believers.
We have never even thought about, let alone spoken and discussed this topic, and especially we have not developed any strategy. Therefore, the establishment of the Diocese of Boka Kotorska in Montenegro does not exist as a topic in our Church."
