But her father-in-law was a mean old man, and in his son's absence he attacked his daughter-in-law and wanted to dishonor her. Tomaida was afraid and in fear warned her father-in-law about the law of God, and escaped from his hands. After a long struggle, the father-in-law took out a knife and slaughtered his daughter-in-law, cutting her in two. At that moment God's punishment reached him, he immediately became blind and could not find the door to get out, but he was caught there in the chamber and handed over to the court, which condemned him to death. Thus Tomaida suffered for the commandment of God about spousal fidelity and chastity. Then it happened that many future ones, tormented by promiscuous passion, raised prayers to Saint Tomaida and received strong help from her. The great ascetic Danilo transferred her relics to Scythia, and laid them there in the cemetery of priests and monks. The death of Tomaida in 476 AD.
