Early on Sunday, before dawn, Mary Magdalene, Mary of Jacob, Salome and some other women went to Christ's tomb with peace prepared. The big stone with which Christ's tomb was closed has been rolled away, the tomb is empty! An angel of the Lord is sitting on the stone, with a face like lightning and a garment as white as snow.

The guard soldiers are frozen with fear. The angel announces to the myrrh-bearers: "Do not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for Jesus crucified." He is not here because he rose, as he said... Go quickly and tell his disciples that he has risen". The women leave, and at the same time the confused soldiers-guards run into the city to inform the Jewish leaders of what they have seen.

People rejoice, all nature rejoices! Christ is risen, the devil and death are defeated! With his miraculous resurrection, the Lord Jesus Christ opened the way to eternal life for us, he opened the way to the final resurrection of the dead on the last day, the day of His second coming.
