Son of King Uroš I and Queen Jelena, brother of Dragutinov. He fought many wars, defending his faith and people. He waged war against Michael Palaeologus because he accepted the union and he forced the other peoples in the Balkans to do so, even the monks on Mount Athos. He also fought against the Bulgarian emperor Shishman and the Tatar Nogai. He trusted in God and prayed to God, and in all wars he was successful. He built over 40 churches and monasteries, including Gračanica, Banjska, Treskavac, Saint George in Staro Nagoričan, the Holy Virgin in Skopje, and outside his country in Thessaloniki, Sofia, Constantinople, Jerusalem, Mount Athos... He rested in the Lord in 1320 . year. His immortal and miraculous relics rest in Sofia, in the Church of the Holy King.
