Calendar for October 2 Holy Martyrs Trophimus, Savatius and Dorimedont
During the time of Emperor Provo, in the 3rd century, Christians Trophimus and Savatius came to Antioch. Just at that time in Daphne near Antioch they were offering sacrifices to Apollo. When they saw that the newcomers were not participating in the sacrifice, they reported them to Atticus, the governor of Antioch, who brought them to court. As they did not want to deny Christ, put them to the torture. First he tortured Trophimus and then sent him to Phrygia to torture Dionysius. Then he tortured Savati, they beat him, stretched him and scraped him with iron until the flesh was stripped from his bones. Savatija died in those torments. Trophimus was visited and served by the senator Dorimedontus, a secret Christian, in the prison of Dionysius. The torturer throws them both before the beast and finally cuts them with his sword.
Holy Martyr Zosim the Hermit. Saint Theodore, Prince of Yaroslavl.
