Cornelius left everything and followed the apostle Peter, who later made him a bishop in the heathen city Skipseosis, where he suffered many sufferings for the sake of Christ. But, by the power of God, he managed to demolish the temple of Apollo and baptize the prince of that city, Demetrius, with 277 Gentiles. He peacefully surrendered his soul to God at a very old age. Over time, his grave was forgotten, but he reported to Bishop Silouan of Troas, who, with the help of a rich man, Eugene, built a church on it. His relics are miraculous.
